It's my birthday!

So, my art studio has started having their holiday-style event the second week of December, which happens to always be when my birthday lands for several years in a row. I'll be open Saturday, December 13th from 12pm-5pm for an open studio, with holiday treats, decorations and maybe some party favors. As always, yeah, I hope someone comes in and says, "I need to buy ONE OF EACH for everyone I know!" but a few hours of art talk and community are really all I ask for. Last open studio, I met so many other sewing people, got splendid ideas about what to make from some kids, learned that UFO in sewing-terms means "unfinished objects" and met a few people who were actually leaving the country due to our current horror-administration. That's the kind of fellowship and learning I don't get if I'm just making and working solo.

So, if you know me or you don't, swing by 1068 The Alameda on Saturday. There'll be about 15 artists at The Alameda Artworks with open studios, and across the street the Visual Philosophy Studio is also having a craft fair. And if you're shopping for others, you know Recycle Bookstore is gonna have something for that hard to shop for curmudgeon.
