New Workshops for the Fall!

August 11th - Queer Craft Club

It’s your favorite local and very tiny LGBTQIA+ craft meetup! Registration is open for next month’s meetup on Tuesday, August 11th. Turns out, having a group of people to show your project to leads to finishing more projects. Accountability can be fun. Bring whatever you’re currently working on, something you put down a while ago or come in and hang out and learn from those around you. I provide sewing machines.

August 30th - English Paper Piecing

My first fall workshop is at Found SJ! English Paper Piecing (EPP) is a patchwork technique for quilting and appliqué that uses small paper templates to piece together your fabric. Wrap your fabric around the paper templates temporarily and stitch or glue in place. The template creates a clear, sharp line for each seamOnce all edges of once shape have been sewn to others, the paper can be removed. It’s a great scrap buster, requires very little in terms of tools and is highly portable. This is wonderful for crafters with little room for storage. It’s so easy and small, you can do it on the bus or train while traveling.

This 2-hour workshop includes all materials. We will go over the basics of creating the templates for EPP and how to put them together. I will also demonstrate how sewists can create their own quilt block free-hand using this method. We will work together to finish a beautiful 8-piece pincushion.

September 29th - Lemon Workshop

Do I make anything other than big fruits, yes, but they are so fun, and a great intro to 3D design. Nature makes a great fruit, but can you? Sign up for the Lemon Workshop Saturday, September 29th from 10am-1pm.

The workshop includes all materials, one hour of sewing machine instruction and two hours to make the lemon. If you’ve already taken my Sewing Machine Lesson, you can purchase just the lemon portion of the workshop.

September 30th - Giant Carrot Workshop

I started making the Giant Carrot Body Pillow back in 2013— 13 years ago!!! It’s time to share this magic with the world. Do you want to learn how to make your own giant carrot? Sign up for my GIANT CARROT WORKSHOP on Sunday, September 20th. You’ll leave with a finished pillow and the knowledge to make your own. Be that person who gifts everyone a handmade giant carrot.

This will be my legacy.
