About the event
Using a classic Jumbo Jibbles pattern, learn the basics of machine sewing and 3D design in a 4-hour workshop designed to be easy (but it's REALLY big). We'll be using my own sewing pattern and everyone will leave with a truly large carrot (4 feet long!) This carrot has been featured at ComicCon and the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon! (Questlove bought one for a white elephant party and PARKER POSEY won it!) You'll learn enough to be able to make these on your own for friends and family!
You'll learn how to sew on knit fabric, how to properly cut out a pattern and how to use hand sewing stitches to attach 3D pieces together. I've been making these carrots for over 10 years and I've learned a lot of tricks to making soft sculpture. Let me tell you about it!
