About the event
Want to make colorful, wacky pompoms that can be attached to clothing? That won't fall apart? Let me introduce you to the Faux Chenille technique. Long used to make highly-textured baby blankets, I have further specialized this quilting method to create Lego-like blocks that can be used in a collage or mosaic fashion. Using only cotton flannel fabric and a sewing machine, you can make oodles of different sized pompoms to decorate accessories, clothing, pillows, and all sorts of fabric creations.
We'll spend some time learning how to layer and design our colors, directionality, and basic quilting tips. Everyone will receive a white bucket hat and learn how to sew on various shapes of pompom. You'll go home with a hat and a collection of pompoms.
